The great designers regularly cause quite a stir during Fashion Week. In addition, as soon as the event is over, women everywhere want to look like their favourite designer’s catwalk models. Even though most of us can’t afford to spend a small fortune updating our wardrobe each season (at least I can’t!), this doesn’t mean that you cannot wear the latest trends. So how exactly do you achieve the designer look for less? All will be revealed in my new 12-part blog series!

Prada is all about candy colours

I’ll start with the latest collection from Milan’s luxury label, Prada. One of the looks that particularly inspired me during Milan Fashion Week was the fresh new business look from Miuccia Prada. I can show you how to emulate this incredible look. The basis is a simple pale blue cotton blouse and a bright pink cashmere cardigan. Team these with a jersey blazer in natural stone, and complete the outfit with a pair of grey trousers and black boots. Despite the many retro colours in this ensemble, there’s nothing old-fashioned about it thanks to the innovative colour combinations. When it comes to this year’s autumn/winter collection of the Italian fashion label, candy colours are found everywhere. You only have to look on the streets of Milan, where we’ve seen many stylish people dressed in candy colours. I love these colours – they are so cheerful on grey, rainy days!

Have fun achieving your new designer look. In the second blog post from our mini-series, I’ll show you how to copy the look of Elisabetta Franchi. See you next time!
