Short coat by SCHNEIDERS SALZBURG: a modern classic in luxurious, rare yak wool. The yak, the king of the Himalayas, lives in some of the most hostile environments on our planet – in Mongolia, Southern Siberia and the Himalayas – under extreme and often particularly cold conditions. The fur of this congenial, shaggy beast is multi-layered: the first layer directly next to the skin, which is commonly used for knitwear and luxury fashion, is extremely fine and among the most precious wools in the world. The fibres are almost as fine as cashmere but extremely robust, lightweight, pleasantly warm and able to absorb more than 30% of their weight in moisture. Given the complexity of the process to obtain yak wool and the degree of care and patience needed to then comb the dense fur, it is priced in the luxury segment. The particularly dense and soft wool is similar to cashmere and yet it has its very own tangible qualities with a particularly soft feel! It has a warming, acclimatising effect and is durable and robust. Timeless, elegant cut with a revers collar, genuine horn buttons, 2 patch pockets and fine hand-stitched edges. 100% yak. Partial lining in 70% acetate, 30% cupro. Short style, approx. 90cm/36ins. Dry clean recommended.
