In 1875, Jacques Schiesser laid the foundation for the brand. The Swiss manufacturer started producing hosiery, together with his wife. From an initial nine circular looms, the enterprise expanded very fast. The first head office was moved to Lake Constance. Just a few years later SCHIESSER were supplying their products to not only Germany and Switzerland but also to Asian partners. The company remained in family hands and even survived the crises of the two world wars. The number of employees was built up with pioneering spirit and determination.
The 1970s brought various innovations such as the acquisition of textile factories and the construction of a textile printing works. The range of SCHIESSER includes so much more than just classic underwear in solid colours, although these are probably still the most popular products. The history of the company is characterised by various lows including filing for bankruptcy. Thanks to active leadership and the delivery of consistently high-quality products, the brand is on course for success again today and we look to the future.
