Our promise: more fashion, more highlights, more satisfaction.
The world-famous trademark, the crocodile, symbolises the nickname of company founder, René Lacoste. It is a guarantee of the quality and authenticity of the timeless, modern Lacoste fashion for women and men, which is characterised by flattering yet casually elegant cuts. Fresh and vibrant colours are typical of the brand's modern appearance. The Lacoste shop carries shirts, polo shirts and pullovers as well as sports clothing, accessories and shoes.
Brand philosophyIntegrity, performance and elegance were the values close to René Lacoste's heart – and those that he passed on to his brand. His innovative ideas and inventive spirit live on in the collections. The deep rooting in sport is also discernible in the style of the modern Lacoste clothing for women and men. Its sporty-purist style makes the fashion by Lacoste the ideal choice for sport and leisure. The casual elegance means Lacoste pullovers and polo shirts can also be mixed and matched with any business outfit.
History The Lacoste brand is the product of René Lacoste's passion for tennis. The successful tennis player sought airier alternatives to the long-sleeved shirts that men used to wear when playing tennis. Thus he invented the Lacoste polo shirt in 1927, which remains the best-selling item at Lacoste to this very day. The polo shirts were initially known under the name "La Chemise Lacoste" and only available in white, breathable loose-knit petit-piqué – the colour prescribed by the tennis association. However, the Lacoste polo shirt soon also became a hit off the tennis court, making its way into wardrobes the world over. Today Lacoste pullovers and polo necks are made from the finest cotton in the season's trend colours.
