Brand philosophyThe brand logo, the "Swirl", symbolises naturalness, purity and innovation – qualities that characterised Jockey's brand values from the very beginning. Naturalness is reflected in the materials used: the company processes the finest combed cotton from selected suppliers into soft jersey material. Purity is reflected in the cuts for Jockey boxer shorts, briefs and undershirts. Innovation is reflected in the countless product innovations at the company. Each product demonstrates Jockey's excellent skill in cuts, the selection of materials and workmanship.
History Samuel T. Cooper laid the foundation stone for the Jockey brand in 1876 when he established S. T. Cooper’s & Sons. The latter initially produced wool socks and, from 1900 onwards, also underwear for men. From 1934, the Jockey underwear became more fashionable: it gained shorter legs and the innovative Y-front form, which remains a characteristic of the Jockey trademark to this very day. In 1960, Jockey brought its first sportswear range onto the market. In 2006, the company introduced the specially-developed "3D-Innovations" range: men's underwear that moulds to the body like a second skin.
