JOOP! Uncompromising design, with sex appeal

  • Brand philosophy

JOOP! This is a name that - perhaps more than any other German name - symbolises the glittering world of international fashion. Flamboyance, self-assurance and sex appeal are part of its fashion message, as are authenticity, top quality and independence. Classic elements blend with urbane modern style, the stylishly casual with subtle glamour. The result: fashion with a fresh elegance and a strong emphasis on personal individuality. Not only will you find immaculately cut, superb classics with a hint of flamboyance and glamour at JOOP!, but also relaxed, upmarket leisurewear with an urbane, relaxed feel. This is a label that unites feeling with strength, designed for men with a keen sense of style.

  • History

With the foundation of JOOP! In 1978, Wolfgang Joop created a brand that bore not only his name but also his handwritten signature. He harnessed his enormous creativity and immense passion, but also Prussian discipline, in the design of the first collections, which appeared on the catwalks in 1982, combining tradition, extravagance and modernity in an exciting mix. In 1985, JOOP! successfully broke into the men's fashion market and subsequently expanded into a universal lifestyle brand. In 1986, together with Herbert Frommen, Wolfgang Joop founded JOOP! GmbH in Hamburg, In 2001, Wolfgang Joop left the company, which in December 2008 became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the owner-managed Holy Fashion Group.

  • Worth knowing

Since the departure of Wolfgang Joop, several strong designers have made their mark on the style and development of the brand, including Dirk Schöneberger, who was the creative director for fashion from 2007 to 2010. He has been succeeded by Marc Biggemann and Stefanie Grosse.
