BASSETTI: Lifestyle brand with Italian flair

BASSETTI is designed for a clientele with a discerning eye for furnishings. Imaginative and elaborately printed brand name textiles of high quality, with Italian flair – this the essence of BASSETTI.

  • History

    In 1830, Carlo Baroncini, a cousin of the Bassetti family, opened a shop in Milan selling fabrics, tablecloths and handkerchiefs in linen and batiste, as well as napkins, bedcovers, curtains and knitted goods. In 1840 he founded a hand weaving mill in Rescaldina to manufacture his own fabrics. Giovanni Bassetti bought the business in 1864 and developed it into an ultra-modern factory. By the 1930s, BASSETTI had distribution outlets all over Italy and the name was synonymous with cutting-edge textile engineering and quality. It was in the mid-1950s that ready-made bed linen first appeared with the BASSETTI brand name – aimed specifically at that time at working women who still wanted a well-kept home and attractive furnishings. In the 1960s, BASSETTI conquered the rest of Europe. The brand merged with the Zucchi Group in 2001.

  • Worth knowing

    These top-quality cotton luxury products are made in Italy. In Rescaldina, near Milan, home of the company's head office for more than 150 years, work is constantly under way to develop new technologies and innovations, such as the 16-colour printing technique which can be used on fabric widths of as much as three metres.
